Doolally Craft Beers
Oliver Schauf hails from Düsseldorf, one of the strongholds of traditional brewing in Germany. He picked up brewing there during a three-year apprenticeship at the renowned Brauerei im Füchschen, where beer is still brewed in open tubs, and sold in wooden barrels.
Oliver went on to study brewing technology at the VLB in Berlin and graduated in 2002 as a Diploma Brewmaster. He subsequently worked at various breweries in Finland, Russia, France and Greenland before coming to India, in 2008, to start Doolally, India's first craft brewery, together with Suketu Talekar. Doolally has meanwhile grown to multiple outlets in Mumbai, and continues to be one of India's most popular microbrewery.
